About Onward Finance + Accounting

  Jason has spent most of his 25-year career working alongside not-for-profit organizations and small businesses, helping leaders make sense of their finances so they can focus on their missions. He founded Onward Finance + Accounting in 2023 with a simple belief: reliable, relevant, and timely financial reporting should be accessible to every organization, not just those with the largest budgets. Strong financial information empowers better decisions, accountability, and long-term sustainability—especially in the nonprofit sector.

Beyond his client work, Jason is deeply engaged in the nonprofit community. He serves on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee of New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School and on the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Chapter of the Society of Louisiana CPAs. He also supports a variety of community and mutual aid organizations including WYES, WWNO, Parisite Skate Park, the LA/SPCA, and the Forum for Equality.

Jason is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant with a collaborative, practical approach. He loves coffee, straight-edge punk music, stand-up comedy, trivia, traveling, and cooking. He and his incredible wife, Ann, live in uptown New Orleans with their rescue dog, Moose, and their three-legged cat, Toonces.
